You can close your eyes while listening to this album and picture standing in the rain; cold, clean refreshing, washing away the dirt of the day like the sins of the baptized.
Then the pace change hits and drives you deeper into the void. Utterly amazing.
Listening to the album straight through is a workout, both harrowing and exhausting, but the payoff is very worth it.
A brilliant send up to the 80s seeds of the black metal genre, thrash and speed metal bands that played with that extra edge of evil, while still maintaining a modern sound.
Other bands attempting the Death Doom should look to the album as an example of how to play the style properly.
