Reviews: MI Metal Shows & Albums
Here’s Our Opinion.
In Lingua Mortua – Salon Des Refusés
…the truth is that In Lingua Mortua sounds more like a journey to an imaginary soundtrack made by King Crimson, Emperor, Mayhem, Insahn and John Zorn all playing together in ensemble mode.
Zebulon Kosted – Never Return Again
Massive and sprawling, yet somehow tightly connected through the kinetics of the music, Never Return Again is journey through the cosmos that is equally a journey through the psyche of the listener.
Hayduke’s Top 50 of 2019
The Top 50 release of 2019 according to Hayduke X.
Baneblade – Oblivion Death March
an enthusiastic reminder of how we dealt with fascism and demagogery the last time they tried to take over the world.
Leprous – Pitfalls
It is heartwrenching, empathy inducing, and uplifting as fuck,
Buildings – Negative Sound
an album to give a jolt of life to what’s left of these dreary November days
Cloud Rat – Pollinator
Cloud Rat’s first LP in four years is worth every bit of the wait
Vastum – Orificial Purge
support women in death metal and buy this record
The Restarts – Uprising
The trio masterfully uses a wide variety of punk rock influences in a varied yet cohesive way. The riffing is strong, whether uplifting, aggressive, or dissonant (all of which appear). The rhythm section moves things along with a solidity that builds the foundation for the message.
Killswitch Engage – Atonement
an authentic and powerful feeling which allows for the 11 skilfully crafted tracks to develop their own personality.
