With the new album Abreaction, AMIENSUS seem to take all of these seemingly disparate styles and combine them into a cohesive unity in which every element is pronounced and perfected.
I’m not sure what conjuration Teratolith are performing, but it is undoubtedly visceral and it is undoubtedly worth your time.
Trust me people, there’s a reason why this release has caught attention from two different labels.
The line up works very well, creating a dismal, post-apocalyptic sound, full of ominous intent.
One thing that really drew me in was the crunchy guitar riffs mixed with an underlying synth at times, and it makes it more dimensional, which adds to overall experience.
This album is dark imagination writ large.
I’m going to go ahead and say it from the get go. This album is fantastic.
Sedate drumming, melancholy and often repetitive riffing, simple chord structures are all beautifully done, and all help the purpose of the album, which is to highlight the raw pain of the vocals.
I think the payoff for letting a difficult album have the time necessary to gel with you is often worth it.
