Each spin of the album immerses me anew in the comfortable/painful waters, ebbing and flowing through the labyrinthine artwork playing through my speakers.
Under An Eternal Mirage Projected In The Sky is the best thing I’ve heard from this project. That, of course, is my subjective taste, but this release hits me hard with each listen. I love it.
Using drone, ambient noise, doom riffs and drumming, cello, and mesmerizing vocals, the duo of Reggie Townley and Sarah Townley create a masterpiece of rich soundscapes that draw me into another world.
What you should take from that is that this album is exceptional, gripping, dark, and powerful.
Through the entire history of ZK, Ghafur has walked his own path. In the eyes (ears and mind, as well) of this writer, that has served him well.
On Une voile déchirée, this collective of talented artists find a different path to heavy.
…metal-adjacent, and utterly, mind-blowingly impossible to describe, though I will attempt to do just that in this feature article.
