The track is both grief stricken and rage filled at the horrors of humankind. It’s an absolute gut punch, full of the darkness of the decay of modern society.
The reality is that it draws you into a trance with it’s droning rhythms, building tension and beauty slowly, Ghafur revealing more of this monster with each bile filled invective.
Using drone, ambient noise, doom riffs and drumming, cello, and mesmerizing vocals, the duo of Reggie Townley and Sarah Townley create a masterpiece of rich soundscapes that draw me into another world.
Through the entire history of ZK, Ghafur has walked his own path. In the eyes (ears and mind, as well) of this writer, that has served him well.
These two tracks seem to exist nowhere. They are blank, bleak landscapes that hold nothing but a relentless wind that carries upon it sounds that cannot be described; a howling upon some unknown and unseen plane of existence.
