Back in mid-July, we stepped out of our comfort zone a bit to review the upcoming release from Forêt Endormie, which you can read here. Today, the collective releases another single from the album. Jordan Guerette writes:

“Nuages orageux” (storm clouds) gather and necessitate a release. The pieces on Une voile déchirée are intended to evoke a sense of place as metaphors for the obstacles we find on our individual journeys. “Nuages orageux” examines that moment when the clouds have gathered and we welcome the coming storm.

This piece is the closest to “traditional” chamber music on the album with clarinet, guitar, piano, violin, and bass conversing with a moodiness that draws heavily on impressionism.
