There is a way to hear your favorite punk ditties and that my friend is the compilation album. I listened to this recent recording from heaven and devoured its contents avidly. Imagine a world into which “Reptile Tongue,” “The Cops,” “Three Eviltones,” “Dog Toffee,” and “Hard Action” are all accessible at the push of a button.

This volume might just go down as my preferred comp ever. It’s unadulterated fire, and there’s not really a bogus note to be found. It begins with “Black Sheriff”, which is one of my most loved melodies throughout the release, and it doesn’t ease up from there. Awesome tunes are given graciously from “Deathtraps,” “The Dirty Denims,” and “Flexxbronco.” There’s hard-edged, working-class street punk from “The Cheats,” “Randy Savages,” and “The Empire Strikes.” There’s heavily-sprinkled, ’77-style scum rubbish punk from “Black Gremlin,” and “Nevadah” blistering punk from “TEGL” and “King Mastino”, along with some sweet flavor from “The Drippers,” “Governess,” and “Bunt.”

It sort of has everything, and like comps before it, will help build my decidedly underground musical foundation. I couldn’t find a track from the comp to stream for you, but here’s a different track from The Cheats, who do appear.
